What is ZUMBA?

Zumba Definition: Latin inspired dance fitness. Easy to follow latin dance moves incorporated with
energetic aerobic movements that create an all-out body sculpting and cardio workout. Actually
it's more like a party than a "work-out".

WHAT IS ZUMBA® GOLD?

Zumba Gold is specifically designed to take the exciting Latin and International dance and fitness
program created in the original ZUMBA® program and bring them to the beginner, active older
adult, persons recovering from injuries and all participants needing modifications for a successful
class.  Created to emphasize the basic steps of ZUMBA®, this explosive program is so easy to
follow, that EVERYONE of all ages can do it!

ZUMBA® GOLD programs are guaranteed to provide ALL participants with a safe and effective
total body workout!   Just as our regular ZUMBA® class creates a party like atmosphere that is
incredibly fun, different, easy to follow and effective.  Zumba Gold does too.  All in all it's great for
the mind, body & soul, but most importantly your heart.

Participants in this class enjoy rhythms such as: Merengue, Salsa, Cumbia, Belly Dance, Rumba,
Tango, Cha Cha along with other fun an exciting rhythms and dances with easy to follow steps.

As we age, changes take place in our bodies. We slow down a bit, we may have a few more
aches and pains, sometimes we have changes with our blood pressure, body fat percentage,
blood sugar, and of course, muscle mass, bone density and strength. It is all part of growing
older. The Zumba® Gold  program takes these issues into consideration and strives to improve
our balance, strength, flexibility and most importantly, the heart.

A Zumba Gold class will be a little different than a Zumba Basic class. First, the class is usually a
little shorter depending on the type of participants. Generally a class will last between 30 to 45
minutes. A longer warm up and cool down (usually 10 to 15 minutes). When you take a Zumba®
Gold class be sure to wear comfortable workout clothing, take water and a towel, along with a
"ready to party" attitude!

All certified Zumba Gold instructors are trained and studied in topics from physiology, psychology
and benefits of Zumba Gold.; to monitoring of exercise intensity, leadership and teaching skills,
and instructor safety tips.

Some of the main goals and benefits of Zumba Gold include improving the quality of life;
maintaining functional skills  for activities of daily living; providing classes that are appropriate for
any of the participants; to make sure the routine is easy to learn and follow so that success can
be achieved quickly; and also to just have FUN.
